Lanarkshire Carers are recruiting Carer Breaks Link Workers to join our professional and committed staff team working to make a positive difference through breaks from caring for unpaid carers throughout Lanarkshire. The positions are full time, 35 hours per week worked flexibly to include occasional evenings and weekends. Part-time hours may also be considered for the right candidate.

The Scottish Government have agreed an additional investment in the Short Break Fund to help Shared Care Scotland’s local delivery partners like Lanarkshire Carers support more carers to get a break from caring. We're looking for compassionate and organised Carer Breaks Link Workers to work aligned to our Short Breaks Bureau and support all aspects of this work. This work will suit a positive, caring, person-centred, responsive and conscientious practitioner who shares our values and our commitment to providing excellent carer services and support across Lanarkshire.
The role of a Carer Breaks Link Worker is demanding and diverse, requiring an organised and skilled approach to develop, administer and evaluate individual carer grants and short breaks initiatives for carers. This is a direct carer-facing role and you will engage with unpaid carers in person, individually, in groups, in communities, in our premises, on the phone and online. We operate public offices and outreach activities; carers contact us in many different ways. Lanarkshire Carers is a digitally enabled organisation, and you will be able to demonstrate the required skills in all aspects of your work. We are looking for people who understand the culture and value of this sector and nature of job roles within a carer-led organisation.
You will have a relevant qualification in health or social care and/or work experience relevant to this post and be able to demonstrate/evidence the required skills. You must have a good understanding of the impact of caring and the issues unpaid carers face. You will have experience in data processing, with a knowledge of finance procedures such as tracking and controlling. You will have a willingness to carry out tasks as required in relation to all aspects of the organisation's activities and contribute personally to all the activities of the charity.

Post holders require a countersigned membership of the PGV scheme.
Post holders will be based between Lanarkshire Carers Centre Hamilton and Airdrie, and localities throughout Lanarkshire. Working from home/hybrid working may also be required.
All staff work on an outreach basis in community, health and social care venues across Lanarkshire.
