At the Department of Finance and Treasury Board we strive to provide financial leadership, analysis and policies that strengthen Nova Scotia. As the Capital Financial Analyst, you will provide financial advice and expertise related to the Capital Infrastructure Program for the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
In this role you will report to the Manager, Financial Advisory Services.

This may be the right opportunity for you if you have 3 years of post-secondary accounting training along with 6 years of related experience. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable.
As the ideal candidate you have previous experience with financial control, budget preparation and monitoring, preparation and presentation of financial proposals. You are guided by generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB).
You possess an understanding of administrative and finance systems including budgeting and account process and accounting systems. You understand the complexities of capital construction expenditures.
You are proficient with Microsoft suite of services (and Excel in particular). You have exceptional time management skills with a strong attention to detail to provide timely and accurate financial information while managing multiple projects and priorities. You also have strong communication and relationship building skills to maintain contacts with various stakeholders both internal and external to government. You are a self-starter and able to effectively work independently.
Knowledge and understanding of the SAP asset module and Capital Project Solutions (CPS), including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) elements would be considered an asset for this position.

Salary Range: $2,370.01 - $2,791.38 Bi-Weekly
