Job Details:Job Summary: The Detachment Commander OSR supports the planning and training of all operator analysts (OA) activities for CWES and UOTS exercises. They must be able to coordinate the activities and personnel of the site in order to meet the training aims / objectives of the training audience. This involves planning with the training leadership, allocating resources to meet the tasks, and providing detailed supervisory oversight and direction. They will be required to instruct, demonstrate, and provide information on the operations of the CWES and UOTS systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The WES OEM OSR Det Comd must directly liaise with their local DND POC to facilitate the scheduling, preparation for, and execution of WES activities.
- The WES OEM OSR Det Comd must liaise directly with the DND TL to clarify WES capabilities, training requirements and scheduling issues.
- The WES OEM OSR Det Comd must co-ordinate and control the work task assignment of all local WES OSRs without reference to external agencies such that daily employment, shift control, overtime and task assignment are under their immediate control.
- Coordinator and supervisor for OAs and Technical Service Technician (TST) to include their administration.
- Primary coordinator with the Training audience.
- Responsible for development and maintenance of OA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Responsible for training the OAs on the CWES/UOTS system.
- Responsible for training Observer Controller Trainers (OCT) on the CWES/UOTS system.
- Oversee the development of the ORBAT for CATS METRIX.
- Attend all exercise meetings as required.
- Direct OAs and support OCTs in monitoring and analyzing events in order to provide After Action Review (AAR) products.
- Provide support in the coordination of trend analysis as required.
- Prepare, initiate, and run exercises in UOTS.
- May be required to fulfill other duties as required.
- Shift work and overtime beyond 40 hours per week required during exercise periods.
- Require a 3-month probationary period.
- Ensures that the simulation equipment is ready and available for training with core working hours of 0800 hours to 1600 hours, Monday to Friday, local time.
- Assigns WES OEM OSR personnel to shifts as required to meet the planned maintenance and EXCON support service tasks at hand. Work may occur on statutory holidays if training exercises are expected to overlap with some holidays.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Four year college degree or equivalent, plus four years’ experience in working knowledge of military operations, training and procedures. Ability to analyze training and create AAR products. Able to multi-task to include running multiple technological systems concurrently. Very familiar and comfortable using computers and associated hardware. Experienced with Microsoft Office programs. Proof of the legal right to work in Canada and secret security clearance from the Canadian Government. Requires mental alertness and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Able to work with minimal supervision. Requires the ability to lift 50 lbs. May be required to travel periodically, both nationally and internationally. Prefer Minimum 10 years military experience. Combat Arms (Infantry, Armor, Artillery and Engineer with former rank MWO – Major, Experienced with AARs, and bilingual in English/French.
Cubic Pay Range:
$70,000.00 - $130,000.00 + benefits.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
