(CAN) Pharmacy Manager

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for all day-to-day activities affecting the people, operations, and merchandise in their division. The Pharmacy Manager must also ensure that the Pharmacy operates according to Walmart policy, professional standards, and provincial and federal regulations.

What you'll do

1. Lead the Pharmacy and OTC teams including participation in the recruitment and interviewing of candidates, train all associates on OBWs/SOPs and Walmart workflow, and ensure their execution.
2. Develop, assess, motivate, and retain team members.
3. Promote Walmart's brand to team members and customers.
4. Develop a functional and collaborative relationship with the Prof Services District Manager.
5. Develop a functional and collaborative relationship with the Store Management team and the Store Manager.
6. Operate Pharmacy to achieve established plans and budgets.
7. Responsible for efficient Associates' scheduling according to business needs, ongoing associate assessment, and periodic performance reviews.
8. Develop and execute business action plans to meet corporate goals and corrective action plans based on deficiencies identified in reports (P&L, FSA visits, POAs, etc.) or by audits and DM visits.
9. Maintain accurate inventories in the Pharmacy by following Walmart OBWs/SOPs (receiving inventory management, disposal of expired products), addressing all customer complaints, and resolving all customer problems to ensure an excellent customer experience.
10. Regularly care for the Pharmacy to ensure a proper appearance and a clean environment for associates and patients.
11. Maintain the professional image for the Pharmacy area as per Workstation Standardization and 6S Audit.
12. Cascade communication coming from the SSC to all Pharmacy associates and OTC.
13. Execute all programs assigned to the Pharmacy by the Prof Services team.
14. Develop and establish collaborative relationships with other health care providers within the store (clinics, Vision Centre, community, etc.).
15. Ensure that the Pharmacy is open and operational during posted business hours.
16. Supervise and support the OTC manager in their everyday duties and responsibilities.
17. Ensure excellent patient experience, locate merchandise on the sales floor.
18. Establish and develop a strong working relationship with Professional Services District Managers and other stakeholders.
19. Accept prescriptions and/or refill requests from Customers, Doctors, or Hospitals.
20. Ensure all prescriptions are filled accurately, efficiently, and safely using the established workflow models and counsel all patients on sold pharmaceutical products.
21. Ensure proper storage of pharmaceutical products.
22. Execute processes as per OBWs/SOPs.
23. Operate all equipment in the pharmacy (register, computer system, etc.).
24. Protect and maintain patient privacy at all times and follow provincial regulations established by the regulatory body.
25. Ensure patients receive all eligible services they are entitled to (medication reviews, injections, etc.) to meet specific patient needs.

• Age - 16 or older
• License - Pharmacist License (secondary optional permit in Alberta: CA_APA - Additional Prescribing Authorization)
