Job description

Are you a technical Material planner looking for a contract role with a strong likelihood of extension? This role might be a good fit for you.


In this role as a Material Planner you will analyze and reschedule purchase orders to ensure material availability, control inventory levels, and prepare material forecasts for both internal and external suppliers.


Advantages

Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week


Please note that this position is subject to export control regulation unless an exemption applies.


Responsibilities

  1. Take action on excess and obsolete inventory.
  2. Refine planning parameters such as safety stock and min-max level to control inventory levels.
  3. Reschedule production orders in Oracle as material availability changes.
  4. Proactively identify substitutes with buyers and engineers to resolve material shortages.
  5. Prepare material forecasts for both internal and external suppliers.
  6. Update escalation trackers to facilitate the expedite/allocation process with internal suppliers.
  7. Provide material availability information to production and collaborate on job releases.
  8. Address non-conformance reports and determine disposition.
  9. Release planner orders from MRP workbench.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma.
  2. Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
  3. No relocation provided.

Preferred Skills:

  1. 2 years of experience using Oracle MRP system.
  2. 3 years of experience working in design-for-manufacturing or an Engineered-to-Order environment.
  3. APICS certification or working towards it.
  4. Strong knowledge of purchasing techniques and supplier management.
  5. 2-3 years of purchasing experience.
  6. Working knowledge of creating PO's in ERP systems specifically Oracle or SAP.
