Summary

The role of Cafe Supervisor is an essential part of our business in all of our locations. You embody and live the Forecast core values and strive to apply these to all duties within your role.

In your role you will work closely with the Cafe Manager in guiding staff in efficient and successful daily operations of your location.

Lift Coffee is one of our very busy cafe locations. The ability to work well under pressure, provide calm, positive leadership and maintain high standards during peak times, is essential. We are a small but hard-working team, so leading by example is a must.

Daily Operations:

  1. Creating a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for staff and customers
  2. Open and close the cafe following all open/close procedures
  3. Ensure cafe is secure before leaving at end of day
  4. Cash handling - ensure accurate till counts (open & close) and change float
  5. Managing the café floor: providing leadership and guidance to the team of baristas when the cafe manager is not present
  6. Ensuring day to day operations run smoothly: plan breaks/ bin runs / orders/ receiving / cleaning tasks
  7. Preparing and serving coffee, food and drinks, clearing tables, washing dishes – getting dirty and leading by example by maintaining a high standard of food and beverage preparation
  8. Providing coaching to baristas to ensure high performance
  9. Ensure store cleanliness – plan and delegate daily and weekly cleaning tasks to barista team
  10. Deal with customer complaints in a polite, respectful manner, enhancing customer experience
  11. Manage in store labor as required during shift in manager's absence (Cutting labour when overstaffed)
  12. Placing orders
  13. Maintain store organisation so product is stored safely and securely

Administrative Operations:

  1. Adhering to Food Safe, Work Safe policies, and following BC Liquor laws
  2. Maintain compliance - Temp logs, fridge temperature logs
  3. Record and enter waste daily at end of day
  4. Receive invoices using Inventory Management software
  5. Supporting Cafe manager with Monthly inventory counts (As required)

Extended:

  1. Support barista training and upskilling as directed by the cafe manager
  2. Support Cafe Manager with event planning and execution
  3. Report maintenance issues to Cafe Manager and plan service as directed

Previous cafe experience is required.

Previous Supervisory experience is an asset.

Serving it Right is required.

Food safe is required.

The posted wage includes tips.

Base wage $19-20.75 + tips.
