The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada’s largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with seven other operating mines in the United States, Mexico and Brazil.
Greenstone Mine is seeking a Buyer to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Buyer, the Buyer is responsible for accurate and timely data processing and supporting Supply Chain activities while respecting GGM’s core values mission statement.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Become a proficient user of SAP system used for all aspects of procurement in the Supply Chain.
- Communicate and demonstrate our mission and values.
- Complete data entry related to procurement and contract administration activities focusing on Service requirements and Direct Buys.
- Working with all departments to ascertain and validate requirements relating to direct buys and determining if inventory is required for processing.
- Create and maintain service masters in SAP, validate current agreement pricing for preferred suppliers/contractors and update Info Records as required.
- Validate supplier/contractor in contractor management software (Cognibox).
- Confirm supplier/contractor delivery times versus required at site dates, process Advance Ship Notices (ASN), and expedite if required.
- Support the Supply Chain department with agreement formation and document formatting.
- Maintenance of vendors in SAP and continuing relationships with suppliers/contractors.
- Assist with inventory management procedures and processes relating to minimizing direct buy products.
- Assist with creation and maintenance of agreements, control reports, research, and other administrative activities.
- Assist accounts payable in resolving any discrepancies and supporting on-time payments.
- Compile, review, and action daily task reports.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- General working knowledge of Operational Procurement, Contract administration, Account Payable processes, and ERP systems (SAP).
- Strong Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office, a high proficiency in Excel considered an asset.
- Self-motivated and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Must demonstrate good verbal and written communications skills.
- Able to communicate effectively and influence others both one on one and through presentations.
- Demonstrates a strong attention to detail.
- Highly organized with a sense of urgency and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Trustworthy with a keen sense of confidentiality, ethics, and discretion
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
- Diploma in Business, Accounting, or related field and/or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience, preferably in mining procurement or accounting environment
- Knowledge of procurement, accounting, and/or cost control systems.
LOCATION
- This position will be remote with occasional visits to the mine site in Geraldton, Ontario when deemed necessary.
