Job description

What You Will Do

  1. Actively review MRP outputs to understand and react to raw material supply needs
  2. Work with suppliers to confirm product price and lead time
  3. Issue Purchase Orders in support of the production schedule
  4. Adhere to material spend budgets
  5. Track Purchase Price Variance (PPV) performance
  6. Actively monitor and expedite outstanding purchase orders to ensure delivery dates and production schedules are being met
  7. Communicate raw material schedule misses to production planning
  8. Gather data and report on supplier performance, and other relevant performance indices
  9. Occasionally, in the absence of the Supply Chain Account Manager:
  10. Gather raw material pricing information to produce costed bills of material in support of customer quotations
  11. Work with customers to clarify any bill of material issues
  12. Establish material spend budgets for new customer orders
  13. Adhere to company and departmental policies and procedures and, if necessary, contribute to their improvement to promote better business practices
  14. Proactively build effective working relations with your peers to support optimal supply chain operations
  15. Perform other occasional assignments in the spirit and purpose of the role and within the scope of the Supply Chain Management function

What You Will Need

  1. 5+ years in a purchasing or similar role. Consideration may be given to recent graduates of a Supply Chain Management, or similar, post-secondary academic curriculum
  2. Prototype/NPI and low volume manufacturing experience is an asset
  3. College Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain management is considered an asset
  4. APICS, PMAC or other Purchasing/Supply Chain qualification/certification is an asset
  5. Profound understanding of ERP/MRP systems
  6. Proficiency in MS-Excel and other MS-Office software
  7. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  8. Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work collaboratively and effectively communicate, both internally and externally
  9. Ability to organize and prioritize workload, ensuring key milestones and regular deadlines are achieved
