Position: Butler, Full Time, Live Out, Server

Location: Hamptons, Manhattan, New York

A family in Southampton needs to hire an experienced full-time, live-out Server/Butler to perform dining services for the family, guests, and larger parties. The role requires heavy coordination with the family’s chef and other staff members, including an additional server, as well as interior and property managers. Responsibilities include:

1. Ensuring proper table setting and plate presentation as directed.
2. Setting and keeping tables clean and presentable at all times.
3. Décor and full table service (food & beverage).
4. Polishing silverware and caring for crystal.
5. Maintaining china.
6. Partnering with the chef.
7. Managing & maintaining inventory throughout the kitchen, dining areas & storage (e.g. wine cellar).
8. Anticipating the needs of the family and guests.
9. Responding urgently and appropriately to concerns and requests.
10. Offering bartending service (when needed).
11. Performing any special tasks that may come up.

A minimum of five years of relevant experience in private homes and/or fine dining establishments is required, as is English fluency. Applicants must be professional, polished, discreet, and possess a strong team-oriented mindset. All candidates must have excellent knowledge of formal fine dining etiquette and service standards, as well as comprehensive knowledge of food, wine, and liquor pairings.

The Server will be responsible for providing high-level service between two private residences and, while based in Southampton, NY, may require some support at the family’s Manhattan home. During the off-season, the typical schedule will be a guaranteed 40 hours, from 8 or 9 am to 5 or 6 pm; however, during the season (summertime), they must have full flexibility to work a much heavier schedule, including weekends.

Salary range: $45-50/hr. with benefits. Immediate start.
