Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are looking for a Business Systems Analyst to join our team!
What You Will Do
Reporting to the Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business processes and user needs to determine systems requirements. You will conduct cost-benefit and feasibility studies, and document and validate business requirements. You will also design and implement both medium and high complexity systems, develop business solutions, configure applications, and provide quality assurance testing and training for systems and operations-related projects.
Other responsibilities of your role will include:
- Implementing and maintaining Infrastructure and Engineering Group’s business systems
- Identify gaps in processes and provide detailed recommendations for consideration and assist with the implementation of process changes
- Formulating and defining system scope and objectives based on user needs
- Designing and developing proposals, forms, workflows, business processes, data modelling requirements and programs to facilitate accessibility of information on a timely basis
- Conducting analyses, assessments and evaluations of departmental practices, procedures, methods and controls as they relate to computing systems
- Design/develop dashboards and reports to support business needs; ensure alignment of metrics across the organization
- Developing test plans, setting guidelines and reviewing test results prior to system implementation
- Leading workshops with staff to elicit and document business requirements, developing business and data process flows and developing strategies
- Examining and assessing weaknesses in systems/practices, and implementing improvements
- Determining the impact of potential changes, and developing cost-benefit analysis for proposed changes
- Preparing and presenting KPI's, progress reports, agendas and summaries
- Creating, maintaining and ensuring data integrity of all databases related to the work and coordinating data collection, data entry, and running of database audit reports
- Act as the subject matter expert on Track & Structure data environment
- Act as mentor for Co-Op student in Procedure & Control team

What Qualifications Do You Bring?
- Your educational background will consist of the completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (i.e. Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Administration, etc.) or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
- Your application will demonstrate several years of directly related work experience.
- It will also reveal a proven track record in implementing asset management strategies. RCM, PMO would be considered an asset.
- You will have strong knowledge of information systems and computer technology concepts, principles and practices and their application in a business environment (CMMS, MAXIMO, SharePoint, Document Management System). You will also have strong knowledge in implementing CMMS or other similar applications.
- Your comprehensive knowledge of systems analysis and database design concepts and practices as applied to large and small batch on-line systems will be invaluable in this position.
- You will have a good understanding of project management concepts and practices.
- Your application will reveal knowledge of end user support functions and data security/audit principles and procedures. Your knowledge of current office automation technology, PC hardware/software and relevant applications will also be evident.
- You will have the ability to plan, conduct and co-ordinate projects associated with the development, implementation and maintenance of information systems
- Your knowledge of RCFA – root cause failure analysis methods or any other structured problem-solving approach (5Why’s, DMAIC etc.) will be beneficial in this role.
- You will have good judgement, well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills and effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Not only will you possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team, but you will also have the ability to coordinate the efforts of other to accomplish objectives.
- In this role, you will be familiar with the various types of equipment used in the Department, as well as the associated maintenance requirements, equipment lifecycles, work methods, maintenance procedures etc.
- You may be required to work during off days/or normal working hours to resolve problems and to perform systems implementation work.
