Job description
AEM has multiple positions available and is creating a bank of candidates to join the following teams: Business Strategy, Business Optimisation, and Project Evaluations. Candidates should be motivated and eager to continue to learn and develop skills in these roles. Some roles will be rotational, two or three years at a time. These positions will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.
Business Strategy:
Advise, update and support the implementation of a long-term strategy (Strategic Plan);
Provide support and manage a structured capital allocation process;
Assess and provide advice on the impact of long term mine plans and projects on AEM’s financial and operating profile;
Evaluate the impact of scenarios for internal projects and external opportunities (M&A);
Partnering with AEM business units to:
Monitor progress on key projects;
Link corporate strategy to proper resource allocation (human, technical, and capital).
Project Evaluations:
Provide advice, update and support the analysis of external mining opportunities for the organization;
Provide insight on technical aspects related to their field of expertise and identify future opportunities for AEM;
Partnering with other AEM business units and work within a multidisciplinary team to:
Monitor progress on key projects;
Link corporate strategy to proper resource allocation (human, technical, and capital).
Business Optimization:
Evaluate scenarios/concepts on major projects or operations to increase profitability and achieve corporate goals;
Develop strategic and tactical recommendations based on analysis of operational data and life of mines;
Act as an internal reference for activities related to his/her discipline when required;
Incorporate best practices and emerging technologies.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor in Geology, Mining, Metallurgy, Infrastructure or related fields;
15+ years of experience;
Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
Excellent business acumen and political savvy;
Excellent project financial modelling skills;
Excellent financial skills.
Your Work Schedule:
Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with the ability to work within the teleworking policy from our offices in Toronto, ON. Occasional visits to site may also be required.
