IT proudly provides the computer systems, security, IT services and governance that support AGLC’s businesses, including the operation & support of mission critical gaming, liquor and corporate systems running on a variety of computing platforms. IT ensures the stability and performance of a Local/Wide Area Network, which supports over 1,200 gaming locations and more than 2,000 computers/tablets, 150 physical and 2,000 virtual servers distributed across six corporate offices, casinos, RECs and bingo halls. IT provides leadership in the use of information technology, data and systems to help the AGLC achieve business goals and objectives.

JOB SUMMARY

The Business Intelligence Architect is a senior level position that holistically leads and supports data architecture, BI, analytics activities that guide the development and management of enterprise data architecture solutions. They lead the development and delivery of analytics and AI artifacts and in support of business capabilities and stakeholder relationship management. They are a subject matter expert and provide the necessary leadership and expertise in all phases and aspects of data management and are a key contributor in the creation of the organization’s data management strategy, vision and roadmap.

The BI Architect takes ownership of various architecture and implementation of various enterprise data management capabilities such as BI, Analytics, Artificial Intelligence. This includes identifying and estimating resources and timelines, as well as mentoring, guidance, and oversight of internal and external AGLC resources.


Responsibilities include:

  • Leading enterprise Data Architecture initiatives including BI, data warehousing, database management systems, ETL software, BI tools, AI tools and meta data management tools, data lake, and existing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) within an Agile team.
  • Understanding emerging data technology trends and determining optimal data architecture technical solutions including BI, ML, logical design, and technical architectural documents which will drive the organization's targeted business outcomes.

Skills & Abilities

  • Degree in computer science or related technology focused discipline and 5 years of experience in developing and supporting enterprise data architecture solutions and practices.
  • In depth knowledge of data architecture and data management principles, practices, tools and methodologies.
  • Good understanding of systems analysis and business analysis techniques and software development methodologies and tools.
  • Hands-on experience in database design and development, data warehousing, data mart design, ETL Development using SSIS, T-SQL programming and query performance tuning.
  • Knowledge and experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, etc.
  • Experience with PowerBI, Tableau software and/or other data visualization and BI tools.
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically to solve business problems and propose solutions.
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
  • Understanding of cloud architecture and automation.
  • Understanding of emerging technologies like AI / ML / RPA.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and be skilled at influencing, guiding and facilitating stakeholders and peers.
  • In depth knowledge and experience with relational and dimensional modeling.
  • Knowledge and experience with Master Data Management (MDM) and metadata management would be an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience with data quality management concepts and practices would be an asset.
  • Azure data certification is an asset.
  • Azure solution architect certification is an asset.
  • TOGAF, DAMA Certified Data Professional (CDMP) certification or other relevant certifications.
