Job description

Job Title: Business Information Management Specialist

Duration: 12 months (Extension/Conversion Possible)

Work Location: Toronto, ON

Work Type: Hybrid


Job Responsibilities:

  1. The BIM Specialist will be part of a project pod responsible for executing the required activities to become adherent to the new data management standards.
  2. We have prioritized the bank's most critical outputs/reports.
  3. Our project team will be responsible for over 40 outputs within the Risk and Compliance area, and each output will go through stages including:
  4. Materiality Assessment – working directly with output/report owners to determine the most important metrics/line items on the report.
  5. Data Supply Chain Analysis – Decomposing the material line items into underlying data elements and tracing them to fully understand and document the systems/transformations and both technical and business metadata.
  6. They will be expected to work with various stakeholders across the bank from differing backgrounds, including non-technical business reporting teams to technology teams, data subject matter experts, and governance professionals to deliver against agreed timelines.
  7. The ability to communicate effectively with a cross-section of stakeholders with varying levels of data management technical knowledge will be a critical skill, as will attention to detail and the ability to quickly identify and appropriately escalate issues and blockers to delivery.

Must Have:

  1. Financial Risk (i.e., Credit Risk, Market Risk, Retail Risk)
  2. Data Lineage Analysis and Documentation
  3. Alteryx or similar end-user tools
  4. MS Office Suite (Access/Excel/Visio)
  5. Agile / Waterfall environment

Nice to Have:

  1. Data controls/data governance knowledge
  2. Data Control Testing experience
