CRA Landfill Operations (CRALOL) (wholly owned entity of GHD) operates the Green Lane Landfill under contract for the City of Toronto (City) with responsibility for all aspects of the landfill operations, maintenance, construction, and development of the landfill. Since April 2007, CRALOL has managed the operations at the Site including acceptance of waste, scale house, landfilling, compaction and cover operations, storm water management, leachate management, landfill gas (LFG) flaring/management system, leachate treatment plant (LTP), odour control program, and building/facilities on-site. Currently, the CRALOL contract with the City extends to December 2029.

GHD has an outstanding leadership opportunity for a Business Group Leader – Landfill Operations to lead our established Ontario Region business. This is an opportunity to run CRA Landfill Operations Ltd (wholly owned by GHD) which has a contract for operations at the Green Lane landfill with the City of Toronto. Located in the Township of Southwold, Ontario, the Green Lane Landfill is a fully operational landfill with between 400,000–450,000 tonnes of materials received at the landfill annually and roughly 5 years remaining in the operations, maintenance, and construction contract.
Your success in this role is dependent on your work ethic, your communication skills, and your leadership ability to provide the best possible service and to ensure productivity metrics are achieved. The Business Group Leader plans and manages, in consultation with the City of Toronto and Site Engineer WSP Canada, site operations and construction activities both annually and long term. The Business Group Leader also ensures compliance with the operations contract, and indirectly supervises Fair Wage staff, subcontractors, and suppliers.
