Job Summary

Tabule is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant General Manager (AGM) to support the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations. The AGM plays a key leadership role in ensuring a seamless guest experience, maintaining operational excellence, and fostering a positive team environment. This role requires a strong background in restaurant management, team leadership, and financial oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist the General Manager in overseeing front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
  2. Ensure an exceptional guest experience by upholding high service and quality standards.
  3. Support staff recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  4. Lead by example, motivating and coaching staff to foster a strong team culture.
  5. Monitor financial performance, control costs, and assist with budgeting and reporting.
  6. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  7. Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and conflict resolution professionally.
  8. Oversee inventory management, ordering, and vendor relations.
  9. Support marketing initiatives and community engagement to enhance brand presence.

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a restaurant management or supervisory role.
  2. Degree/Diploma in Hospitality, Business Management, or a related field is an asset.
  3. Smart Serve certification required; First Aid and Food Handler certification are assets.
  4. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  5. Experience in team training, development, and performance management.
  6. Financial acumen with experience in cost control and sales analysis.
  7. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Customer-focused mindset with a passion for hospitality.
  9. Additional beverage training, such as wine certification or mixology courses, is considered an asset.
  10. Knowledge of POS systems, particularly Toast, is considered an asset.
