GRADE 9/10 ENTREPRENEURSHIP TEACHER

SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM

St. Clement's School is currently looking for a qualified teacher to join our Summer School Staff for the period from June 23 to July 18, 2025.

The Teacher reports to the Vice Principal and will teach Grade 9/10 Entrepreneurship (BEM1O and BEP2O) with in-person classes Monday to Thursday and virtual classes on Fridays. The Teacher has the overall responsibility for planning and teaching the course using synchronous and asynchronous means. This includes the support and supervision of students, preparation, invigilation and correction of assessments, and preparation of midterm and final reports. The Teacher will provide and manage a safe, positive learning environment for students, both in-person and virtually, to foster critical and creative thinking, project management skills, and the development of an entrepreneurial mindset. The Teacher will participate in faculty meetings, support summer school initiatives, and implement best practices in the area of teaching. Other duties may be assigned to support the School.

POSITION DETAILS

Term: June 23 – July 18, 2025

Hours of Work: 8:00 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.

  • Monday to Thursday: Classes will be held in-person at the School
  • Friday: Classes will be virtual

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure students are dismissed safely each day;
  • Oversee student activities during school hours (8:45 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.);
  • Utilize prep time from 8:00 – 8:45 a.m. for planning and printing tasks.

PRE-TERM WORK

  • Plan the curriculum and activities;
  • Communicate material needs;
  • An SCS device will be provided for the term of service, to be picked up prior to June 23.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Bachelor of Education; Intermediate/Senior qualifications;
  • Member, in good standing, with the Ontario College of Teachers;
  • Minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience;
  • Experience teaching effectively in a virtual instruction environment;
  • Knowledge of instructional best practices for teaching;
  • Ability to use a wide variety of teaching and assessment strategies to meet the learning needs of all students;
  • Experience and comfort in providing rich inquiry-based learning opportunities and real-world application;
  • Excellent classroom management, organizational, and planning skills and experience in differentiating instruction;
  • A record of encouraging, nurturing, and supporting students' love of learning;
  • Strong initiative, communication, teamwork, and instructional ability;
  • A stable internet connection.
