About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and energetic Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our dynamic sales team. Reporting to the Director of Sales, you will be responsible for generating leads, qualifying prospects, and supporting the sales team in achieving revenue goals. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to start their career in sales and business development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct market research to identify potential leads and target accounts.
  2. Target accounts using sales technology tools for smart outbound prospecting.
  3. Engage with inbound leads via email, phone, and social media to understand their needs and assess their fit for our products/services.
  4. Use various tools and methods (e.g., cold calling, email campaigns, social media) to generate new leads.
  5. Qualify leads by identifying their interest level, budget, purchase timeline, and decision-making process.
  6. Nurture early-stage leads by providing relevant information and answering initial queries to build interest and rapport.
  7. Schedule product demonstrations or consultations between qualified leads and the sales team.
  8. Maintain and update the CRM system (HubSpot) with accurate and detailed information on leads and prospects.
  9. Collaborate with the sales team to develop strategies for reaching sales targets.
  10. Follow up with leads and prospects to ensure they are progressing through the sales pipeline.
  11. Participate in sales training (Athennian Certified) and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  12. Provide feedback and insights to improve lead generation strategies and processes.

Qualifications

  1. 1-2 years experience as a BDR, sales associate, or in a similar sales role.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for engaging potential clients.
  3. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple leads effectively.
  4. Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed in a dynamic sales and marketing environment.
  5. A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn and make an impact.

Nice to Have:

  1. Familiarity with CRM software such as HubSpot and sales engagement platforms such as Outreach and Sales LinkedIn Navigator.

Location

We have embraced a distributed model of working to reach the best talent in the world. While some roles may require proximity to our Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver offices, roles based outside our office locations can be remote in Canada and the US.
