Responsibilities
The Business Development Manager is responsible for proactively driving a specific product line or specific partner sales within the Connection field sales organization. The Business Development Manager (BDM) participates in customer meetings and briefings to provide high-level solution consultation and design, virtually and frequently in person. The BDM is a Sales role driving company-wide product sales for an assigned region. Sets sales strategy in cooperation with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Connection Services team, and the partner's channel and field sales teams; tracks and drives sales initiatives and sales campaigns. The BDM responsibilities include but are not limited to proactively driving effective field engagement between Connection and partner's field sales organizations, training of appropriate staff (Support, Sales, etc.), prospecting untapped sales leads to identify new sales opportunities and effectively using systems to communicate your region's sales pipeline for partner.
Job Duties:
- Maintains a strong understanding of the latest partner's products and solutions and Connection’s solution set around partner.
- Develops net new partner sales opportunities by data mining and analyzing current Connection sales data and trends to identify new targets and underpenetrated Connections accounts and sales reps for partner products.
- Maximizes partner's deal registration opportunities by monitoring and participating in effective execution of special pricing programs.
- Monitors and participates in effective execution of other key partner programs.
- Builds a new business opportunity funnel around customer acquisition.
- Promotes Connection Solutions’ partnership arrangement with the respective manufacturer.
- Provides prospects with manufacturer’s product information, benefits, and comparisons.
- Follows up on a prospect's interest level with a virtual or an in-person meeting, when possible.
- Generates initial sales and follows up with the prospect on additional business opportunities.
- Builds and maintains partner's customer relationship.
- Sets up new customer including but not limited to price matrix, standards, custom catalog, web login, etc.
- Provides complex quotes and RMA denials.
- Understands and utilizes OEM programs to provide the best solution to the customers and maximize company profitability, including management of customer bid pricing.
- Manages challenging logistics and customer issues.
- Builds and fosters a relationship with Manufacturer field reps.
- Helps prioritize and coordinates partner activities and escalations with the Inside Sales Support team to ensure the best quality of customer service.

Qualifications
2 years experience working with Hewlett Packard product line.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills to include creating presentations, creating documents in Word to include advanced formatting, creating spreadsheets to include the use of macros.
- Advanced technical knowledge.
- Adept at proactively finding business opportunities within existing customer base.
- Sales experience with an emphasis on sound business development with an ability to grow customer accounts and a demonstrated history of meeting/exceeding sales goals.
- Strong presentation skills with ability to present to all levels including C-Suite.
- Action-oriented, with strong executional skills.
- Articulate with ability to express oneself clearly and professionally in written and oral communication.
- Inquisitive information seeker with ability to ask probing questions to uncover root causes of problems.
