Overview of the Role

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to spearhead sales growth and expand market share for our dairy and cheese products with Sysco Canada. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, strategic planning, and client relationship management within the food service industry. They will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, building partnerships, and driving revenue growth.

This position is for temporary maternity leave coverage and will be approximately 15 months in duration.

Compensation: $88,325 - $115,930 annually

*Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills and training.*

How you will make contributions that matter:

  • Identify and target new markets and customer segments for Saputo dairy and cheese products.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to guide decision-making.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets through effective planning and execution.
  • Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline to drive consistent growth.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals with distributors and/or foodservice clients.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure long-term partnerships.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with the production and marketing teams to align product offerings with market demand.
  • Drive promotional activities and campaigns to increase product visibility and sales.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations and delivery.
  • Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for senior management.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve performance and market positioning.

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

  • A degree/diploma in business, sales, marketing or equivalent education and training desired
  • Minimum 5 years Account Management experience in Canadian Food Service industry
  • Dependable and team oriented with a proven ability to build internal and external relationships
  • Strong understanding of the dairy industry, including production, distribution, and retail dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and market trends.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently.
  • Willingness to travel to meet clients and attend industry events as needed.
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
