Business Development Manager - Travel Industry

As a Business Development Manager for the North & Scotland, you will be responsible for establishing and nurturing relationships with travel agents and key strategic partners. Collaborating closely with the marketing team, you will create targeted campaigns that effectively reach potential clients. Your role will be instrumental in driving revenue growth and expanding the company's market presence.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales within the travel industry. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with the ability to build long-term relationships. This is a fully remote home based position with monthly team meetings. You will be required to be out in your geographical area up to 4 days a week, with an admin day once a week. You will ideally be located in Scotland or Northeast of the UK.

You may currently be in a similar trade sales job in travel or being working at manager level within a travel agency.

Job requirements

  • Ability to effectively manage a portfolio of travel accounts
  • A strong emphasis on working as a team
  • Highly motivated with a drive to achieve targets
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and competitor activity
  • Able to build close working relationships both internally and externally
  • Have a track record of success in developing travel sales

Job responsibilities

  • Deliver a sales plan that supports the company's objectives
  • Identify new target accounts within assigned territory
  • Negotiate incentive plans for new or existing key accounts
  • Oversee the sales pipeline, both wholesale, OTA and retail
  • Provide regular sales visits, telephone calls, webinars to key accounts
