What you will do
The Business Development and Marketing Manager drives the growth of Kings Landing by overseeing the marketing, sales, and communication functions for this living history museum. You will manage a small team that offers guests a 'one stop shop' for booking and sales services, connecting clients with authentic experiences delivered by the Visitor Experience team. You will promote Kings Landing to guests in key target markets by using an integrated marketing approach that includes creative digital and print media, direct to consumer outreach, influencer campaigns, and other innovative strategic initiatives. Some duties include:
- Develop and implement a marketing and sales plan to drive visitation, increase engagement, and enhance the organization's brand positioning and reputation.
- Manage the production and distribution of creative marketing materials, newsletters, email marketing campaigns, and other promotional content.
- Manage social media content and website development. Plan, capture, create, and publish photo/video assets for content creation and curation.
- Manage external communications and media relations.
- Manage booking and client services for interpretation and education programs, group experiences, facility rentals, film permits, and unique dining experiences.
- Work with functional teams to respond to client requests and achieve a seamless guest journey from pre-booking to post-stay.
- Engage in supporting the development and evaluation of tourism products and explore opportunities for new and innovative products.
- Oversee the development and production of non-personal media and signage at Kings Landing to enhance the guest experience.
- Work with the CEO and provide key input and advice in the development and support of corporate strategies, annual plans, annual reports, and corporate policies.
- Develop work plans, provide leadership and coaching, manage performance, and foster teamwork and collaboration.
- Develop and track budgets.
- Create relationships and partnerships with external stakeholders, including destination marketing organizations, tourism industry partners, and other government colleagues.
- Identify advertising, partnership, public outreach and online opportunities for exposure, visitation growth, and audience engagement.
- Compile guest feedback from various platforms, responding when necessary, and sharing comments with the appropriate department/team members.
- Create email marketing campaigns via Mailchimp in both official languages to subscribed audiences to share news, updates, upcoming events, and for general engagement purposes.
- Perform related work as required.
Work Environment
- Location: Kings Landing, Prince William, NB. A hybrid work arrangement can be considered.
- Standard hours of work: Evening, weekend, and variable hours may be required. Some travel also required.

Need to have
- University degree in Hospitality and Tourism, Business Administration, Communication, Marketing, or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of related work experience, including two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of the tourism and hospitality industry, particularly travel trade.
- Versatile writing skills for a variety of communications such as briefing notes, media releases, reports, plans, and marketing materials.
- Experience engaging, negotiating, and resolving issues with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to plan and implement projects involving multi-functional teams, contractors, stakeholders, or partners.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.
Nice to have
- Experience in web development and graphic design.
- Experience in digital platforms like MailChimp, Fareharbor, WordPress, Google Analytics/My Business.
- Experience in providing advice or recommendations to senior management.

Wage
Payband 5: $64,974.00 to $90,740.00 annually.
