Business Controller, Global Teams
Department: Corporate Finance
Location : Laval (4204, boul. Industriel, Laval)
Hybrid mode: 3 days at the office and 2 days remotely
Type of employment: Permanent, Full Time (40 hours)

THE ROLE
This key position will be part of the Global Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, reporting to FP&A Senior Manager. In this role, you will provide financial guidance on operational expenditure governance. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the executive team, collaborate across departments, and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

What You’ll Do
Operational Expense Budgeting Process

1. Facilitate annual planning process for assigned Global Functional groups
2. Intake and review budget plans from sub-teams
3. Consolidate OPEX budget and drive constructive discussion on spend optimization

Operational Expenditure Tracking, Analysis and Reporting Process

1. Coordinate, report, analyze and provide insight on spending
2. Assist Functional Groups in spend management
3. Collaborate with Finance Controller team to provide timely and accurate variance governance report
4. Support Finance Controller team in complex questions

Supporting Business Case creation

1. Assist Commercial Development team in building and reviewing business cases.
2. Educate stakeholders on business case best practices

OPEX Ad-Hoc Request and analysis

1. Assist with special projects and various requests.

Continuous Improvement

1. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing team objective as needed.
2. Identify opportunities to enhance data-related processes, tools, and workflows.
3. Collaborate with internal teams to drive innovation and efficiency improvements while having a strong drive to Make IT Easy

What You’ll Need
We want you to join our team! Here's what we're looking for:
Education

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
2. CPA title required

Experience

1. 5 - 7 years of relevant experience preferably in financial analysis, strategic planning, or budgeting and forecasting

Knowledge And Skills

1. Advanced knowledge of Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, LongView and SharePoint. And an aptitude to learn new tools / systems
2. Experience working with accounting applications such as PDI & JDE would be a plus
3. Experience with Power BI would be a strong asset
4. Strong analytical and quantitative abilities; strong attention to details while being able to synthesize information.
5. Experience working with large and complex datasets
6. Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management.
7. Comfortable working independently, in cross-functional teams, and in a global role
8. Willing to adapt to a dynamic business environment, balancing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
9. Comfortable initiating actions and taking responsibility to secure agreed output
10. Collaborate effectively and build professional networks
11. Motivated by challenging tasks and complex projects across many countries and regions

Language Skills

1. Bilingualism is mandatory (French and English) in both written and spoken languages, as the person will be required to serve English-speaking regions.
