THE OPPORTUNITY

Total Systems Solutions Consulting Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance ManagerUKG Pro WFM to work for our public sector client at the Northern Health Authority (NHA) in the Province of British Columbia. This is a remote role and you must be available 100% to work remote full-time 40 hours per week with availability Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm in the Pacific Time Zone.

The consultant is expected to start date is ASAP and the contract length is 1.5 years.

Project Context

Northern Health is working on implementing a new Workforce Management (WFM) solution – UKG Pro WFM. Resources are required to support NH in the full lifecycle of planning, testing, including creation, execution and documentation of user stories and test cases. There will be a phased approach to implementation; all test planning, strategies, activities, and execution will remain aligned to this phased approach to ensure seamless deployment. The population and timing of the phased deployment approach is still under development, but it will include:

  • Included employees (fall under a collective agreement)
  • Excluded employees (non-contract)
  • Four collective agreements
  • Five employee statuses (full time, part time, casual, casual full-time nurse, casual part-time nurse)
  • Additional roles requiring access to the system, including but not limited to: Managers, Staffing Services, Finance, Payroll, HR, etc.
  • Integration to Andgo for: vacation planning, absence reporting and shift call outs
  • Go Live date between November 2025 and March 2026.
  • Deployment of Positive Time Capture Capabilities.

Octane will likely be used to document user stories, test cases, results and defects.

Service Required

Northern Health is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Business Analyst to support the full lifecycle of planning, testing, and documentation for the implementation of the UKG Pro WFM solution. The QA Business Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless deployment through a phased approach, aligning all test planning, strategies, activities, and execution with this approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • User Story Development: Develop and document user stories. Ensure requirement-to-test case traceability.
  • Test Plan Development: Create comprehensive test plans covering WFM, Payroll, and related processes/solutions. Document objectives, needs, schedules, risks, assumptions, environment needs, and test data needs required for the project.
  • Test Plan Oversight and Management: Oversee and manage the execution of test plans. Conduct test coverage audits (new tests, defects, completion rates, etc.).
  • Test Status Reporting: Provide test status reporting (dashboards and as requested). Offer support and guidance to the Northern Health test team. Prepare test closure reports.
  • Test Process Development and Tool Configuration: Develop and refine test processes. Configure testing tools to support test activities.
  • Defect Management: Support defect triage discussions. Report, log, and create resulting test cases for defects. Perform defect testing and regression testing.
  • Post-Implementation Support: Optionally provide operational support post-implementation. Recommend sustainment/operational team structures, including roles and responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Direct Testing Experience: Integration platforms. SaaS implementation experience. UKG Pro WFM experience.
  • Healthcare Experience: Proven experience in healthcare due to the complexity of the requirement.
  • Testing for Large Enterprise Initiatives: Experience in developing and executing test assessments for large enterprise projects.
  • HR Information Systems: General knowledge of HR information systems and operations.
  • Reporting and Presentation Skills: Experience in writing executive-friendly reports and presenting to stakeholders and executives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Andgo.
  • Experience with Octane for documenting user stories, test cases, results, and defects.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: Up to $70.00 per hour

Flexible language requirement: French not required
