Bring your excellent analytical and communication skills to our team as a Business Analyst/ Project Manager within our Information Technology (IT) department.

The Information Technology Department plans, operates and supports the College's Information and Technology services and infrastructure, enabling our business partners to carry out their roles efficiently, productively and securely.

You will be responsible for bridging the gap between IT and the business while ensuring the successful, on time and on budget completion of IT related projects. Using data analytics and collaborating with business leaders, you will assess processes, determine requirements and deliver data-driven business aligned recommendations. Working closely with our Director, Information Technology, you will prepare comprehensive action plans, including resources, timeframes, and budgets for projects.

In support of ongoing organizational transformation, you will work with various business and leadership stakeholders to ensure the effective execution of change management as part of all IT related projects; this includes helping business users to navigate and overcome barriers to successful adoption and utilization of implemented technology solutions.

This role is the result of a single vacancy and will require the successful candidate to attend in-person meetings and work onsite at our Toronto office occasionally as needed. At this time, we are only considering candidates located in Ontario or who are willing to relocate.

What can I expect to do in this role?

Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, you will:

  • Work with various departments to develop processes that effectively utilize existing technology resources, if possible, and/or provide alternative solutions to meet department requirements
  • Develop and execute communication strategies for assigned projects
  • Develop project plans and establish timelines
  • Liaise with clients to identify and define requirements, scope, and objectives
  • Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions
  • Develop and maintain project dashboards and other project related documents
  • Complete quality assurance and assist with user acceptance testing and training
  • Provide project risk and opportunity analysis
  • Report project progress to Senior Leadership
  • Provide application analysis and recommendations
  • Work collaboratively with external vendors in supporting various business applications; document and escalate complex issues, and coordinate tasks between the user and support vendors
  • Other duties as assigned
What skills and background do I need?

The Project Manager/Business Analyst requires:
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in information technology, business or related field
  • Minimum of three to five years of Business Analyst experience
  • Project Management experience would be an asset
  • Strong leadership and change management skills
  • High level of business, financial and technical acumen
  • Ability to perform under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Ability to think critically and try different approaches to solve a problem
  • Can identify problems, understand the underlying cause of the issue, propose solutions, and participate (or implement) appropriate resolutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service orientation
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) is an asset
  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) is an asset
  • RCDSO is building its bilingual (French/English) capacity and excellent French language proficiency is an asset
Compensation and Total Rewards
  • Base annual hiring salary from $89,527.64 to $100,769.22, commensurate with experience
