Holcim is planning to spin-off its North American Business to unleash its full potential, capitalizing on North America’s oversized growth in construction led by the modernization of infrastructure, a surge in advanced manufacturing and AI operation and the growth of resilient cities.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Business Analyst (New Grad) is responsible for providing operational and administrative support to the Calgary Asphalt division’s business growth and development. The Business Analyst will serve as a role model in the areas of safety, environmental stewardship, leadership, teamwork, customer focus, and continuous improvement to ensure alignment with the company’s vision and critical success factors. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position will provide the new graduate with development opportunities to gain widespread experience within our Asphalt business with the ultimate goal of building a long term career at Lafarge.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Creates and maintains process and system documentation.
  • Conducts data entry tasks such as production entries in SAP.
  • Assisting to develop strategies and objectives for sales, pricing and profitability.
  • Carryout plant and site inspections for quality assurance.
  • Assist area management in planning, coordinating and supervising production activities.
  • Coordinates with sales, operation managers, quality control personnel and other operational teams on project details, information handling, problem resolution and developing reports.
  • Problem solving for issues that arise in the production facility and on job sites.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge on technology, features and industry trends to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Recent graduate from a Bachelor’s degree or diploma.
Field of Study Preferred: Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Required Work Experience: Prior experience in the asphalt industry or construction industry is considered an asset.
Required Technical Skills: SAP, Google Suite, Excel.
Travel Requirements: 0-10%

  • Strong analytical skills. The ability to develop, promote and follow-through (in a team environment) on new ideas and projects is an integral part of this position.
