Job title: Business Analyst (Junior)

Schedule: Mon-Fri (40 hours/week)

Description: Our client is a major North American energy company based in Calgary, Alberta - Canada, that develops and operates natural gas pipelines, storage facilities and power-generation plants, with focus on renewable energy sources.

What you’ll do:

1. Contract analysis and management, responsible for execution, monitoring, and continuous improvement of contracting function;
2. Use knowledge of tariff requirements for transportation services to ensure contract adjustments meet the terms of service;
3. Help facilitate the ongoing exchange of information and continuous improvement across departments;
4. Provide analysis and integrated solutions to eliminate reoccurring data issues;
5. Assist in developing and maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation and provides knowledge transfer for business processes and workflows within functional area;
6. Adhere to compliance with work standards, policies and procedures;
7. Participate in projects that involves enhancements to contracting systems including design requirements and user acceptance testing;
8. Provide exceptional customer service while providing solutions that support the needs of our customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Pipeline regulatory knowledge, comfort with tariffs, knowledge of contract terms and conditions and experience with commercial services an asset;
2. Excellent written and oral communication skills;
3. Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, and able to balance multiple competing priorities;
4. Ability to collaborate with diverse departments without direct supervision while representing the Contracting team;
5. Awareness and knowledge of end-to-end process in order to assess impacts to upstream and downstream functions an asset;
6. Strong computer skills, with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite – particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word - able to manipulate large data sets into readable and usable information;
7. PowerBI experience;
8. Good judgment in selecting and interpreting information, handling deviations from standard methods, and resolving difficulties;
9. Challenge and improvement of business processes within area of responsibility and understanding impact within the business area;

Education:

1. Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business/Commerce or Economics.
2. Midstream oil and gas/pipeline experience would be considered an asset.
