Business Analyst (Banking Operations)

The Business Analyst I will plan, manage, elicit and document business and system requirement for the development of Highgate’s core banking system. They will also act as a liaison between technology and operations team as well as the clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs feasibility analysis, scope projects and work with the project management team to prioritize deliverables
• Analyze business needs presented by the user community and recommend technical solutions
• Create detailed business requirement documents (BRD) and translate it into function and non-functional specifications
• Partner with development and analytic teams to provide reporting on software solutions
• Specify, design and solicit requirements for net new applications
• Participate in integration testing, user acceptance testing and functionality testing
• Assist with the configuration of new and upgraded environments
• Assist with product training and demonstrations
• Facilitate meetings and lead discussions (i.e. design sessions, sprint planning, backlog grooming, story breakdown, test strategy discussions, etc.)
• Participate in product implementations
• Provide first level support during implementations and before handoff to client services
• Other relevant duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in computer science, finance, business or a related field
• Experience within a business analyst role
• Working towards Certified Business Analyst Professional certification
• Experience with financial applications
• Direct Experience with Banking Systems
• Focus on LOS and Internet Banking
• Involvement in Technical Work
• Knowledge and practice of agile methodology
• Ability to elicit requirements and conduct an analysis of business needs, including leading meetings, planning agendas, conferring with business lines, external clients and technology leaders
• Superior interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of the project life cycle methodology
• Ability to communicate at a business level (oral and written) in French or Spanish will considered a strong asset
• Ability to review test plans and test cases resolving any issues that may arise
• Knowledge of data mapping
• Experience with system testing
• Fluent in English with ability to speak Spanish and / or French would be an asset

Special Factors

• Overtime maybe required
• International travel will be required
• Weekends and Evenings maybe required

Scope

• Will work directly with Software Engineers, Project Managers, clients, sales and other business units
• Will work in a matrix environment reporting to the Director of Products & Delivery & the Business Analyst lead
