Overview
Our client is looking to augment their team with a Business Analyst. The main function of the Business Analyst is to perform data analysis and interpret information that assists management with insights, decision making, or other managerial functions. The Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between complex data and strategic decision-making. They will work closely with the leadership team, build custom reports, and collaborate with existing reporting teams. Given that they will be working with one of the largest support databases globally, it is imperative to have a seasoned analyst who can navigate and extract meaningful insights from such a vast and intricate data environment. They will need a solid understanding of the data structures and the core KPIs of a typical support organization.
Responsibilities
- Analyze information obtained from management to conceptualize and define operational problems.
- Define data requirements and gather and validate information, applying judgment and statistical tests.
- Data Extraction and Integration: Ability to extract, integrate, and manipulate data across disparate sources of varying technologies.
- Proficiency in SQL and Power BI: Advanced skills in SQL and Power BI, including data modelling, dashboard creation, and report generation.
- Data Cleansing and Transformation: Experience with data cleansing and transformation using Power Query M, DAX, and SQL, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
- Statistical Knowledge: Strong understanding of statistical concepts and methods, such as confidence intervals and significance tests, with the ability to apply them to real-world problems.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with the confidence to present and explain findings to senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Visualization Abilities: Proven experience in creating concise visualizations and presentations to convey key insights and recommendations effectively.
- Analytical Thinking: Curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking skills to explore data and discover new opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, statistics, mathematics, or a related field preferred, or equivalent related experience.
- 5-7 years professional experience.
- Experience in operations research, data analysis, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, or data modeling.
- Basic knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time.

- Programming: Proficiency in Python, R, Java, or SQL for data analysis, manipulation, and modeling. | 5+ years of experience.
- Data Visualization: Skill in Power BI to create impactful visualizations. | 5+ years of experience.
