Business Analyst

Company Overview :

Our client is a mineral exploration and development company based in Canada. They are currently seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join their team in support of a world-class mining project located in Labrador, near the northern Quebec border. This project presents a strategic opportunity for sustainable mineral development, leveraging low production costs, existing infrastructure, and hydropower. The project also operates as a ‘joint venture’ with a global mining major, requiring collaboration with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Support the Strategy Manager in business planning and decision-making.
2. Conduct financial and scenario-based analysis, including reporting and presenting.
3. Maintain financial models, including Net Present Value (NPV) modelling.
4. Analyse market trends, operational data, and financial performance to support strategic initiatives.
5. Contribute to the development and maintenance of a Risk Matrix to assess potential risks and mitigation strategies.
6. Assist the Commercial and Joint Venture Manager in evaluating stakeholder management, and reporting.

Qualifications & Experience :

1. Proven experience in business analysis, management consulting, financial modelling, and risk assessment.
2. Experience in the mining, natural resources, or infrastructure sector is necessary.
3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and operational data.
4. Proficiency in financial modelling tools and software (Excel, Power BI, or similar).
5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
6. Willingness to travel to Northern Quebec and Newfoundland & Labrador as required.
7. Fluency in French and conversational / professional proficiency in English.
