Job description

LeverageTek is actively seeking a bilingual Business Analyst for a permanent position with its Ottawa-based customer.

Work Location

The successful candidate will be required to work 2x/week on-site at the customer location in Ottawa.

Key Tasks

  • Support IT solutions by defining business requirements, in collaboration with IT.
  • Lead and engage in requirements gathering sessions and workshops.
  • Define business requirements, in collaboration with internal clients and business units.
  • Engage in multiple small to medium IT projects simultaneously.
  • Provide strategic trend analysis of business performance management data for executive use.
  • Research and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) data related to business management and service delivery, as well as reports and processes to identify areas for improvement and recommend new business solutions.
  • Translate complex concepts into accessible and consumable language, enabling effective communication with non-technical audiences.
  • Support operational and technical reporting using data analytics.
  • Ensure the successful implementation of solutions by participating in user acceptance testing.
  • Provide guidance and training related to business and performance management reporting and analysis.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control activities for business performance management data and corporate performance reporting.
  • Provide support to internal clients and business units to help them complete and implement new business initiatives and reporting solutions.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships within the organization, and with industry, the Client-Partners and/or stakeholders.
  • Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate expectations.
  • Manage risk.
  • Support monthly, quarterly and year-end processes associated with human resources and finance.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience as Business Analyst for IT projects.
  • Recent experience as Business Analyst for HR and Finance systems, functionality and processes.
  • Strong knowledge of business analysis concepts and methodologies, strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma in engineering, computer science, business or related field.
  • Highly collaborative and adaptable, capable of becoming a subject matter expert across various departments.
  • Strong expertise in leading requirements gathering, workflow definition, process diagrams.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Experience with Power BI reports.
  • Experience creating test plans and executing testing processes.
  • Experience working on multiple small to medium projects simultaneously.
  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
  • Able to multi-task, attention to detail, a passion for problem solving.
  • Able to apply project management and risk management techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Able to translate ‘business speak’ to technical users and ‘technical speak’ to business users.
  • Able to engage cross-departmental outreach, provide training and research, develop and recommend system options to improve efficiency.
  • Knowledge of best practices, methods, trends and legislation in corporate performance management data.
  • Experience providing functional direction and advice to other employees.
