Our client, a dynamic organization in Edmonton, Alberta, is seeking a talented and driven Business Analyst to join their Information & Digital Technologies team. Reporting to the VP, this role offers the exciting opportunity to analyze and improve business processes across various departments, directly contributing to the company's strategic goals.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Lead the charge in understanding, documenting, and refining business processes and sub-processes to identify areas for improvement.
2. Conduct thorough requirements gathering through various methods like interviews, workshops, and document analysis.
3. Act as the key link between the IT department and different business units, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
4. Collaborate with project managers, system owners, and end-users to define and shape business requirements and goals.
5. Translate business needs into technical solutions by working closely with application developers.
6. Play a key role in integrating new and improved processes into strategic decision-making.
7. Proactively identify opportunities for optimization and recommend constructive changes.
8. Develop technical reports for the IT team to support their activities.
9. Design and deliver training programs for impacted business users.
10. Utilize data analysis tools like SQL to extract insights and support decision-making.
11. Provide support to end-users in resolving system-related issues.
12. Keep IT Management informed with relevant and timely updates.
13. Assist in maintaining project timelines, schedules, and methodologies.

What You'll Bring:

1. A Bachelor's degree, diploma, or technical certificate in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
2. Mandatory: CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) certification.
3. Minimum of 5 years of direct experience as a Business Analyst.
4. Proven ability to analyze both business and technical requirements effectively.
5. Strong experience in modeling and mapping business processes using established methodologies and models.
6. Solid application integration experience, including design, development, support, and data migration.
7. Excellent troubleshooting skills for business process changes and related issues.
8. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high quality.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle complex business processes.
10. Ability to understand and interpret the needs of end-users, project managers, and other stakeholders.
11. A process-oriented mindset with strong judgment, attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
12. Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
13. Experience conducting industry research to address technology or business process challenges.
14. Ability to monitor project scope and contribute to change management processes.
15. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with business and technical teams.
16. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Visio.
