We are looking for a Sales and Business Development Manager to add their expertise to our team. The position can be in Calgary area or at our Toronto location.

Your responsibilities as a BDM:

The Sales and Business Development Manager in the transport and aeronautics sector is responsible for driving revenue and profit growth by defining and implementing appropriate sales strategies, while managing customer relationships, optimizing partners and analyzing sales results. He/she collaborates with internal teams, contributes to the promotion of the company, and offers strategic recommendations based on the analysis of market trends to achieve the organization’s objectives.

  • Reporting to the Vice-President, Sales and Operations, the Director of Sales and Business Development, Transport and Aeronautics.
  • Stimulates revenue and profit growth in order to achieve the company’s growth objectives.
  • Responsible for the overall management of all strategic and operational activities related to customer relations.
  • Understand, analyze and forecast market trends to identify target markets for business opportunities and provide strategic recommendations to achieve business results.
  • Defines, drafts and implements business development strategies for all the company’s activities and implements appropriate measures to keep them up to date.
  • Responsible for maximizing the potential of the company’s customers and active partners.
  • Participate in responding to customer needs and be proactive in customer relations and preferred solutions.
  • Regularly analyze sales results, working closely with operations to plan and anticipate results or deviations.
  • Develop, in agreement with the marketing department, the promotional material and tools required for the sales strategy and to support business development.
  • Guide and support the recruitment team in identifying potential candidates.
  • Provide market feedback to company management on competitive offerings, prospect needs and generate product development ideas.
  • Represent the company at promotional events (conferences, exhibitions, job fairs, etc.).
  • Handle relations with customers/partners/suppliers, depending on the sector of activity, to offer customers a distinctive service.
  • Work within the organization’s philosophy and in accordance with AAA Canada’s policies and procedures as well as the organization’s strategies and objectives.

What you need to master as Skills and qualifications:

  • B.A.A., marketing, engineering or other related field.
  • At least 5 years experience in strategic sales and marketing management.
  • In-depth knowledge of the transportation industry.
  • Experience working with senior management to align sales strategies and solutions.
  • Experience in a corporate/business focused environment.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, proven experience in seeking new business.
  • Proven experience of increasing revenue through lead generation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Office, CRM).
  • Strong business, innovation and market analysis skills.
  • Customer service and results oriented.
  • Ability to travel around 30% for customer visits.
