Job Description:
- Site investigation and evaluation of existing buildings.
- Preparation of warranty reviews and depreciation reports.
- Preparation of drawings and specifications in support of reports.
- Perform building condition assessments, field investigation work such as leak investigations of all aspects of building envelope including roofs, walls, windows, and foundations.
- Project management, contract administration, and field reviews.
- Design and analysis to determine effective repair alternatives.
- Coordination with team members, clients, engineering, and architectural disciplines.
- Provide support to project staff on project responsibilities when needed.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Write reports, conduct site investigations, problem-solve proactively and collaboratively.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Engineering, Applied Science or Architectural/Building Science technologist program required.
- 1-3 years of experience in building science (an asset).
- Field experience addressing site conditions and working with construction processes.
- Experience with warranty reviews, depreciation reports, building envelope condition assessments.
- EIT, P.Eng, or ASC.T. designations preferred.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Technical knowledge of building enclosure design and construction principles.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with clients, staff, and consultants.
- Ability to gather and diagnose information, interpret data and drawings, and assess conditions of multiple components.
- Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, or similar programs is an asset.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and strong investigative aptitude, including the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose building performance issues.
- Inquisitive nature with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
