Building Inspector (Class 2A–2D) – Southampton UK
Flexible Remote Working | £50,000 - £65,000 (depending on experience and RBI status)

Are you working as a Building Inspector with a huge region to look after? Or an increasing workload? This role will be for you.

You will only look at residential, domestic and small commercial projects along the South Coast, never travelling more than an hour. It’s not a heavily target driven environment, but a team that manage people as individuals not on KPIs. If you are looking to expand your 2A registration or are comfortable working at your existing level and prefer the residential environment, you will enjoy this role. This role is open to those working in public or private sector or if you have been working in the structural warranty industry.

The Role:

As a Building Inspector, you’ll be responsible for ensuring compliance with building regulations by carrying out site inspections and assessing construction work.

This role offers remote working flexibility, allowing you to manage your own schedule while conducting inspections across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct site inspections on domestic construction projects to assess compliance with regulations.
2. Prepare accurate inspection reports and maintain records.
3. Work collaboratively with the wider inspection team and local authorities.
4. Keep up to date with changes in building regulations and industry standards.

What We’re Looking For:

1. Qualified RBI Class 2A to 2D (must have at least 2A inspection registration).
2. Strong experience in domestic construction inspections.
3. Knowledge of UK building regulations and compliance requirements.
4. Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
5. Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
6. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
