Building Attendant (Culture & Entertainment)

Job Status: Continuous Part-Time

Pay & Grade: $20.94 to $21.78 Hourly

Band: 3 (new position)

Hours of Work: Up to 24 Hours per week

Initial Location: Conrad Centre

Posting Period: April 1, 2025, to April 8, 2025 (at 6:00pm)

Overview: Maintains the cleanliness of the building in which they work by performing various cleaning duties, facilitating events and venue needs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Working with WHMIS-controlled chemicals such as propane, cleaning products, paints, and adhesives are used regularly for events.
  2. Interact with security staff to report/or resolve incidents.
  3. Performs other related duties as assigned.
  4. Contact with customers, the general public and co-workers supports and projects values compatible with the organization and participates as an effective team member.
  5. Custodial duties include maintaining facility cleanliness including removal of graffiti, ordering supplies, emptying garbage, cleaning and disinfecting all common facility areas (sinks, countertops, toilets, urinals, mirrors, walls, showers, water fountains, and all touch spots).

Requirements:

  1. Equivalent to partial secondary school education.
  2. 3 months of related experience.
  3. Carries weights up to 30 lbs. such as buckets of water and moving tables and chairs.
  4. Ability to work when required outdoors in various weather conditions which would include light shoveling and sidewalk winter control, maintaining exterior litter and debris.
  5. Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
