Position: Broadcast Systems Engineer

Position SummaryThe Broadcast Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in maintaining entertainment properties of Canucks Sports & Entertainment (CSE), including Rogers Arena’s broadcast, live production, and AV infrastructure. This position involves technical and operational support for a variety of sports venue technology, including cameras, replay and graphics servers, audio/video switching and distribution, LED scoreboard, graphics and timing systems, content editing, asset management systems, and our Central Patchbay and JBT infrastructure.
This Role Will Focus On- Providing primary technical support for all Production Control Room systems, Scoreboard graphics and timing systems, and general facility A/V technology.
- Creating physical and router patches for all types of production signal flow including audio, video, cameras, telephone, internet, intercom, and fiber, catering to in-house live production, home and away broadcast, in-house events, radio, live transmissions, and concerts.
- Collaborating with and supporting our stakeholders including live production staff, Content and Game Entertainment departments, restaurants, suites, and event management.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues arising between the NHL or NLL league operations, broadcast trucks, and the in-house production systems.
- Creating and updating maintenance reports, submitting shift reports, and detailing hardware malfunctions, damages, and personnel errors.
- Innovating with design recommendations and efficiency improvements for all production technology, including equipment replacement and operational workflows.

You Have- At least seven years of relevant experience working with Broadcast systems.
- Expert knowledge of arena production signal flow.
- Proficiency with AV router and multiviewer configuration, electronics handling, troubleshooting, and repair of professional analog and digital Broadcast audio and video equipment.
- Strong computer, server, and networking skills, including both Windows and MacOS.
- Working knowledge of all types of audio and video procedures pertaining to event operations.
- Working knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and repair broadcast physical cabling and distribution hardware including video and audio patch bays, cable trays and cabling bulkheads, telco/riser rooms, and equipment rooms.
- Experience working on catwalks and near rigging systems.
- Capable of handling physical aspects of equipment maintenance, including some lifting and working up ladders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish cooperative working relationships with internal and external vendors, contractors, technicians, and clients.
- Self-starting personality with a keen attention to detail and task completion.
