Job Overview
Wild TV Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Broadcast Manager to oversee the traffic operations for all four of our stations: Wild TV, RFD-TV Canada, Cowboy Channel Canada, and Water Television Network. This role is hybrid, combining traffic management with the oversight of our broadcast programming to ensure seamless coordination between commercial streams, program feeds, and scheduling. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all traffic and broadcast activities run efficiently, meet regulatory compliance, and deliver an excellent viewer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Traffic Management: Oversee and manage the traffic scheduling for all four channels, ensuring commercials, programs, and other broadcast content are scheduled accurately.
  • Live Broadcast Coordination: Ensure smooth execution of live broadcasts, coordinating the flow between commercial breaks and program feeds across multiple channels.
  • Commercial Stream Oversight: Manage and monitor commercial feeds to ensure that client commitments are met and that brand conflicts are avoided.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, programming, and production teams to align traffic schedules with client requirements and program needs.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Support broadcast operations by resolving technical issues related to play-out and digital broadcast delivery methods (SRT, HLS, RTMP), ensuring uninterrupted service.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all broadcasts comply with industry regulations and company policies. Generate reports on traffic and broadcast performance to track delivery accuracy and quality.

Summary of Skills:

  • Client & Brand Management:
  • Understanding of TV traffic best practices and standards as they relate to commercial scheduling.
  • Excel Proficiency:
  • Intermediate to advanced skills, with the ability to compile data from multiple sources into cohesive reports.
  • Ability to create data visualizations to assist the sales team with performance reporting.
  • Remote Work Software Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with workplace tools such as Basecam, TeamViewer, Splashtop, and Remote Desktop for effective remote collaboration.
  • Traffic Scheduling Experience:
  • Experience with traffic scheduling for TV or radio. Knowledge of Masterplay is beneficial. Experience using SDS is an asset.
  • Digital Broadcast Delivery Knowledge:
  • Understanding of IP-based digital broadcast delivery methods, including SRT, HLS, and RTMP.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Experience with HAIVISION products is a significant plus.
  • A background in broadcast engineering or familiarity with broadcast systems is highly desirable.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in broadcast traffic, ideally in a multi-channel environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage complex schedules across multiple networks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, especially under the time-sensitive pressures of live broadcasting.
  • A team player with strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $41,782.34-$84,973.38 per year

Flexible language requirement:

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
