Reporting to the Superintendent, the Bridge Foreman is responsible for leading and supervising bridge rehabilitation and maintenance projects primarily in the Edmonton region. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and lead our bridge division. We are looking for a skilled leader who is ready to take ownership of projects and drive success in our bridge rehabilitation operations. Responsibilities include ensuring quality and safety standards, coordinating project timelines, and managing resources efficiently. The role requires a leader who can work independently while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance.

How You’ll Add Value

  • Actively contribute to the safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work environment
  • Lead and supervise a crew on bridge rehabilitation and maintenance projects, ensuring work meets safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards are met while planning, scheduling, and coordinating work to optimize efficiency and staffing
  • Enforce compliance with labor laws, specifications, and organizational policies to maintain regulatory adherence and smooth operations
  • Provide mentorship, feedback, and development opportunities to crew members
  • Manage resource planning, including people, equipment, and materials, utilizing online systems for work orders and reporting
  • Support recruitment, selection, and training to build a skilled workforce, while engaging in personal development to enhance leadership skills
  • Oversee resource planning for people, equipment, and materials, managing timekeeping, work orders, and maintenance through online systems
  • Lead by example to promote high-quality service, continuous improvement, and adherence to QA / QC standards
  • Perform activities in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of bridge maintenance and repair techniques, including concrete work, excavation, and structural rehabilitation
  • Experience using builder’s levels, laser levels, and other survey tools is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite for reporting and planning is preferred
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (Class 2 with airbrakes or Class 1 considered an asset) with a Driver’s Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions
  • Willingness to work night shifts as required and travel and work out of town for short, fixed-term periods, as needed
