Job description

Technology is reinventing higher education and at OCAS we play a vital role in helping shape this evolving landscape. We deliver dependable technology systems and business services to support our industry partners and create new pathways for learners exploring and applying to Ontario’s public colleges.

Recently named a Waterloo Area Top Employer for the ninth consecutive year, we’re looking for innovators who can bring their expertise and passion to our growing team.

We’re looking for a creative and passionate Brand and Events Coordinator to help us continue to bring our brand to life both in the Ontario college system and in our own organization. Coordinating with external-facing teams and roles, you’ll support the planning and execution of key events and experiences that align with our brand vision; leave a consistent, meaningful, and lasting impression on our audiences; and contribute to improving internal and external brand perception.

If you want to be part of an awesome, high-performing team, this role is for you!

At OCAS, you’ll work with remarkable colleagues who support each other in achieving high performance.

Why OCAS?

  • We offer a hybrid work environment that gives you the flexibility to work in our Guelph office, remotely, or a combination of both.
  • Your team is passionate about technology and encouraged to explore new ways of working.
  • You’ll start off with 22 vacation days, as well as paid company breaks in the summer and during the holiday season.
  • We offer a defined benefit corporate pension plan to help you prepare for your next stage of life.
  • We provide generous benefits that include vision and dental care, extended health care, life insurance, and more.
  • Because we understand the importance of lifelong learning, we offer a generous professional development allowance, as well as other initiatives to help you ‘skill up’.
  • We support several local charities and offer paid time off to volunteer in your community.

In this role, you will:

External Events

  • Collaborate with external-facing teams and individuals to maintain an events roadmap.
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of individual events, including working within a defined budget, liaising with vendors, arranging staffing, setting up, and being a point person on-site to ensure flawless execution.
  • Prepare attendees for events, including assisting with registration and accommodation, educating them on the event’s purpose and goals, and gathering post-attendance feedback.
  • Identify opportunities for speaking engagements and collaborate with presenters to ensure material and experience align with brand standards and desired outcomes.
  • Where appropriate, energetically represent the brand during events to build audience engagement and positive interaction.
  • Build awareness, understanding, and excitement within our organization around our external events and event presence.

Internal Engagement

  • Support the planning and execution of internal events that connect employees to our brand and culture.
  • Collaborate on initiatives that help employees embody corporate values.
  • Support awareness and adoption of internal employee programs and processes.
  • Equip employees to be brand ambassadors who effectively communicate the brand’s identity and mission.

Content Development

  • Collaborate on the creation of materials and content that convey the brand's message on our websites and social media.
  • Identify and execute new opportunities to enhance our corporate intranet with engaging and informative brand content.

Brand Consistency

  • Undertake regular audits to ensure that all our products and services, collateral, communication, and experiences align with the company's branding guidelines and that our brand presence on external channels is reflected appropriately.
  • Source and maintain an inventory of branded merchandise for internal and external events and initiatives.

You should have:

  • A post-secondary diploma/degree and 1 to 3 years of experience in event management or a related field.
  • A current Ontario driver’s license and a willingness to travel within the province.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • A willingness to be in-office as needed to support event preparation, execution, and inventory management.
  • Experience in the college system is an asset.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.

Salary: $50,000 - $65,000
