The Company

The Morning Star Company and its affiliates operate three tomato processing facilities in Central California, processing over 1/3 of the California processing tomato crop, in addition to tomato transplanting, farming, harvesting, and trucking operations. The company employs approximately 600 year-round and 2,500 seasonal colleagues.

The Mission and Opportunity

The Mission of this colleague will be to provide efficient, dependable, quality steam at prescribed pressures and temperatures to our customers for process requirements and preseason testing.

Repair and Maintenance:

Takes ownership of entire steam generation system.

Understands steam generation equipment and process flow and effectively troubleshoots problems. Performs all required preventative and restorative maintenance on steam plant and related equipment, including:

• Boilers
• Deaerator System
• Pumps
• Motors
• Turbines
• Control Systems
• Chemical Systems
• Flue Gas Recirculators
• Other Related Equipment
• High Pressure Welding
• Candidate must have strong troubleshooting skills
• Must understand steam generation theory, fluid theory (hydraulic and air), and basic physics of pressure and temperature.

Compensation

Salary range is $70K - $110K and benefits are quite good and certainly competitive. The position is based in Los Banos, California.

Operations:

Operates all boilers and related equipment

Operates, monitors, and maintains steam, condensate, and water flows:

• Starts up and shuts down boilers
• Performs basic water chemistry
• Balances steam and water flows
• Responds to upsets and emergencies
• Controls costs
• Complies with mission-critical regulatory requirements
• Willing to work long hours and weekends during tomato processing season
• Familiarity with 24/7 production environment
• Own and maintain professional tool set
