Summary

The Ontario Family Caregivers' Advisory Network (OFCAN) is seeking dedicated Board Members to provide leadership and leverage their expertise to improve mental health and substance use disorder services in Ontario through effective family caregiver engagement. Ideal candidates will have lived experience as caregivers and skills in areas like accounting, fundraising, and governance to support OFCAN's mission of empowering caregivers through knowledge exchange.

Board Member Opportunity with The Ontario Family Caregivers' Advisory Network (OFCAN):

The Ontario Family Caregivers' Advisory Network (OFCAN) is a registered charity connecting family and caregiver advisory committees dedicated to advancing services for mental illness and substance use disorders in Ontario. We share knowledge, experience, and programming to enhance the effectiveness of family caregiver advisory efforts across the province.

OFCAN is seeking passionate and dedicated Board Members to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to lend your expertise, relationships, and commitment to promote improved mental illness and substance use disorder outcomes through family/caregiver engagement.

As a Board Member, you will:

1. Provide strategic guidance and oversight to advance OFCAN’s mission.
2. Collaborate with advisory committees and stakeholders to foster systemic change.
3. Help shape policies and initiatives that strengthen mental illness and substance use disorder services.
4. Use your network and skills to amplify our impact and reach.

We are particularly looking for individuals who are mental health and substance use disorder caregivers with lived experience and expertise in:

• Accounting.
• Fundraising and resource development.
• Community engagement and relationship building.
• Mental illness and addiction.
• Advocacy and public policy.
• Governance and strategic planning.

Your leadership and insights will directly support OFCAN's efforts to empower family caregivers and improve the quality of life for individuals across Ontario.
