We are a non-profit organization run by a local board of Directors funded by Legal Aid Ontario. We provide legal advice and representation for a variety of income-related and poverty law issues, in both English and French. Are you passionate about increasing access to justice for tenants in Northern Ontario? Our clinic is seeking a full time bilingual lawyer to fill an exciting new position: Tenant Protection Lawyer.
The successful candidate will lead the establishment of this new program in Northern Ontario, which is specifically aimed at expanding duty counsel services for tenants, and providing public legal education in Northern Ontario on tenants’ rights. This position will be based in our clinic but will be a collaborative effort of all 11 Northern Ontario community legal clinics including Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Algoma, Northwest, Moosonee, North Bay, Timmins, Kapuskasing, Elliot Lake, Lake Country, and Manitoulin.

The salary range is $80,000-$110,000.00 per year, depending on experience, and includes a generous vacation entitlement, paid sick days, and after three months, group health and dental benefits and RRSP contributions.
The target start date of this position is as soon as possible, but start date can be flexible.
