Bilingual Learning and Development Specialist

Job Summary

Employment type: Permanent, Full-time

Reporting to: Director, Learning and Development

Remote work: Hybrid, 2 days remote per week

Location: 4950 Young St, Toronto ON M2N 6K1

Start date: As soon as possible

Salary: $72,000 - $88,000 per year

Role's mission

The Bilingual Learning and Development Specialist will support the planning and organizing of learning courses and events, act as the Training Management System (TMS) administrator, coordinate learning and development programs, develop and deliver L&D programs, work with employees and leaders, and actively participate in ad hoc projects.

Main responsibilities

  • Collaborate with experts to create and deliver technical and non-technical training.
  • Facilitate both in-person and virtual training sessions, using various instructional methods.
  • Develop and update comprehensive training programs and materials.
  • Apply adult learning principles in training delivery.
  • Support diversity, equity, and employee development programs.
  • Manage training logistics and ensure schedules are coordinated.
  • Research industry best practices and manage external vendor relationships.
  • Assess training effectiveness and gather participant feedback.
  • Oversee internal and external facilitators.
  • Manage the Training Management System (TMS) and Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Handle invoices and support budget processes.
  • Align training initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Ensure efficiency and accuracy in Learning and Development tasks.

Your profile

  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business, or Communications.
  • Bilingual (or near bilingual) in French and English.
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience in a Human Resources department, ideally working on L&D projects.
  • Knowledge of instructional design approaches, instruction methodologies, and learner-centric design and learning solutions and new developments.
  • Quick learner, detail-oriented with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Prior experience working as an LMS or TMS administrator, preferred.
  • Prior experience hosting and producing virtual workshops preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Customer-centric mindset coupled with excellent interpersonal skills.
