POSITION TITLE: Bilingual Human Resources Generalist (On-Site)
LOCATION: Sudbury, ON
REPORTS TO: Regional Human Resources Manager
MacLean Engineering is currently recruiting for an ambitious and service-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our team at our Sudbury, ON facility. About the Position:
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for participating in and supporting various HR programs and initiatives including full cycle recruitment, onboarding, people and culture, policy and legislation knowledge, and all aspects of administrative tasks.
This position requires the following proficiencies:
- Employee facing – first point of contact for all employee inquiries in English and French.
- Partner, build and maintain a strong working relationship with all employees and leadership; as a “go-to” Advisor for any Human Resources administrative needs.
- Full cycle recruitment (attracting, job fairs, prepare and post job postings, interview, reference checks, prepare job offers, onboarding, and offboarding).
- Coordinate and organize the administrative activities of HR department (employee file maintenance, utilize HRIS system, prepare reports, etc.).
- Provide support researching and investigating ESA and MOL standards to update current policies and practices.
- Coordinate, schedule internal and external training programs as well as ensure all necessary documentation is maintained and filed as required.
- Handle sensitive HR issues with a high degree of tact, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Assist Regional Manager with formal investigations and process documents.
- Assist in the administration of the performance review process.
- Partner with the Regional HR manager to manage performance improvement plans and succession planning for top talent.
- Manages time and meets deadlines.
- Provide input and suggestions on continuous improvement for the Human Resources department including but not limited to policies, procedures and processes.
- Work closely with Payroll and Health & Safety as required.
- Plan and execute employee events and meetings.
- Participate and provide administrative support with special HR projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
About You:
The successful candidate must be willing to learn, able to work independently and as part of a team, detail-oriented, has a high regard for confidentiality, and must have a positive attitude and ability to build and maintain good working relationships, along with the following qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration – Human Resources is preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience in multi provincial legislation is a requirement.
- Some knowledge of HR best practices.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is required.
- CHRP or CHRL Designation preferred.
- Strong computer skills working with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).
- Experience and working knowledge of HRIS systems.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task.
