Schedule: Open Sunday to Saturday, 7AM to 11PM ET. Candidates must be available during operating hours.

The Fraud Analyst at BMO Virtual Connect Contact Centre is accountable for taking inbound calls from customers related to fraud.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct investigations to identify, assess, decide, and report on activities indicating exposure to financial crimes.
  • Ensure potential threats and investigations are evaluated, documented, managed, and escalated following standard operating procedures.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and oversight of criminal risk by following a disciplined and intelligence-based approach to detection and research.
  • Provide input and develop recommendations for process and customer service improvements.
  • Stay abreast of financial crimes risk trends, relevant regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Monitor and analyze information from detection systems, tools, reports, or manually to evaluate, investigate, and determine required actions.
  • Support the collection of evidence and information for various purposes including incident reports/filings, loss prevention, litigation, and criminal prosecution.
  • Document actions and information throughout investigations to maintain account/case files.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of financial crime management processes, frameworks, and techniques.
  • Gather and format data into regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
  • Analyze data and provide insights and recommendations.
  • Execute routine tasks such as service requests, transactions, and queries within relevant service level agreements.
  • Provide notifications, information, and instructions to internal/external stakeholders related to incidents as necessary.
  • Complete complex and diverse tasks within given rules/limits and handle escalations from other employees.
  • Analyze issues and determine next steps.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of risk and regulatory requirements as they apply to financial crimes is an asset.
  • Knowledge of banking products, services, processes, and organization is an asset.
  • Verbal & written communication skills - Good.
  • Organization skills - Good.
  • Collaboration & team skills - Good.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills - Good.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary: $37,500.00 - $53,500.00

The base salary represents BMO Financial Group’s hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
