Bilingual Field Service Representative - Montreal

Saint-Gobain Canada has an exciting career opportunity for a Field Service Representative based in Montreal to join our Warranty team. This is a great chance to join a Top Employer and contribute to our growth and success.

What’s the job? The principal function of the Field Service Representative is to coordinate, perform and provide reports regarding on-site inspections. This position also requires technical knowledge of proper application methods for siding and roofing products. Problem-solving skills/knowledge while on-site is a must. This position requires the ability to train siding installers and roofers concerning proper installation methods. This position requires the ability to stay calm in sensitive situations while performing inspections or while speaking to customers on the phone.

Inspect roofing, siding (and other products deemed necessary by CertainTeed management) at the request of CertainTeed Technical Services (Roofing), Warranty and Technical Services (Siding) and/or at the request of a plant Quality Manager. Initiate and file a report based on inspection observations. Must be able to diagnose a claimed issue while in the field performing inspections. This requires a high level of problem-solving skills and building envelope technical expertise. Provide onsite training as needed for warranty-related repairs and concerns directly to the contractor. Additional responsibilities assigned by the Technical Services Manager or the Field Service Supervisor must be completed in a timely manner. Also, perform assigned administrative tasks such as reports and other assigned tasks within time restraints.

  • Perform on-site inspections of roof systems, product claims and extended warranties.
  • Provide objective and detailed documentation in conjunction with claims in preparation of on-site inspection reports.
  • Coordinate with relevant contacts to schedule on-site inspections.
  • Complete and maintain the FAA required licensing for drone operation.
  • Build a good working relationship with installers, TM’s and distributors.

What do you bring?

  • A 2-year degree is preferred and/or 4 years of roof inspection or roofing experience.
  • Successful completion of HAAG and Working From Heights Safety Training.
  • Successful completion of driver training as required.
  • Successful completion of any assigned Boost (on-line) courses assigned by the Supervisor and/or Department Manager.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • The person in this position must always maintain a calm and professional attitude in the representation of CertainTeed.
  • The Field Services Representative must have detailed knowledge of the entire CertainTeed Roofing and Siding line of products, installation recommendations and processes involving CertainTeed Roofing and Siding products.

Benefits in joining us

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position works from a remote location and has regular travel by car and plane. Additionally, this position will often climb ladders and traverse uneven roof surfaces in many different climates.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to safely climb ladders and traverse uneven roof surfaces (with slopes up to 6/12) in many different climates. This position requires responsibilities for scheduling field inspections, therefore this person must be self-motivated. This could involve multiple changes to a trip to accommodate additional claims. Flexibility and proficiency in scheduling is a must.
