Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) currently has an exciting opportunity for a BI Developer to assist our Information Services team. This is a full-time opportunity and will report to the Manager, Enterprise Data Analytics.

The selected candidate will be accountable for gathering business requirements, designing, developing, and aiding data solutions. It involves building scalable, efficient data models and integrations to help enterprise reporting and analytics. The incumbent will work with SAP BI technologies, AWS, and Python-based tools to enhance data accessibility, automation, and performance, while continuously improving, delivering, and extending the organization’s BI solutions.

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Gather, evaluate, and document business requirements for enterprise reporting and analytics
  • Translate functional requirements into technical specifications for BI development
  • Design and develop scalable data models using SAP BW/4HANA, Native HANA, and SAP Datasphere
  • Build hybrid models combining BW and Native HANA objects such as calculation views, CDS views, ADSOs, composite providers, and BEx queries
  • Activate, configure, and enhance SAP extractors (business content and generic) based on functional area requirements
  • Integrate data from SAP S/4HANA modules and custom objects into enterprise reporting solutions
  • Interact with non-SAP data sources using SDI, SDA, and ODP-based extraction methods
  • Develop data flows and replication scenarios in SAP Datasphere, including space management, connection setup, and remote tables
  • Enhance data models and SQL logic for performance and scalability
  • Create and maintain semantic layers, rankings, and reusable data views for consumption across multiple tools
  • Administer and tune HANA environments, including performance monitoring, memory/capacity management, and system sizing
  • Design, build, and maintain Web Intelligence (WEBI) reports in SAP Business Objects
  • Provide user assistance, training, and best practices for BOBJ self-service environments
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI, leveraging DAX, Power Query (M), and direct or import connections to SAP and cloud sources
  • Build and maintain data pipelines using AWS Glue, and query large datasets using Athena
  • Integrate and automate data workflows using AWS Lambda, S3, and Python scripts
  • Apply software development best practices including version control, testing, and documentation
  • Create unit, system, and user acceptance testing and maintain evidence and traceability
  • Collaborate with technical peers (e.g., SAP Basis, cloud engineers, developers) to ensure solution alignment and maintainability
  • Assist with production BI solutions, troubleshoot data and performance issues, and coordinate root cause resolution
  • Maintain documentations including solution design, development changes, deployment instructions, and metadata
  • Participate in Agile and Waterfall project activities, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Ensure data security, access control, and compliance with governance policies across BW, BOBJ, and cloud environments

What You’ll Bring:

  • College diploma/University degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence development, including hands-on work with SAP BW/4HANA and/or SAP Datasphere (SAP DWC)
  • 3+ years of experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards using DAX, Power Query, and integration with SAP and cloud data sources
  • 3+ years of experience with Python for scripting, automation, and data transformation tasks
  • Experience designing and developing data models using SAP HANA views, SQL, AMDP, ABAP, and HANA stored procedures
  • Familiarity with SAP Datasphere architecture, data modeling, and integration with SAP and non-SAP systems
  • Strong understanding of SAP BW/4HANA integration with S/4HANA, and knowledge of one or more S/4HANA modules
  • Experience with BusinessObjects (BOBJ) 4.x reporting
  • Exposure to cloud-based data platforms (nice to have), particularly AWS Lambda, Glue, Athena, and S3
  • Strong experience in technical solution design, software specifications, and development of end-to-end BI solutions
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall
  • Excellent diagnostic and solution-finding dexterity with a results-oriented approach
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Aptitude to work proactively under pressure, demonstrating initiative and sound result-driving experience
