Job description

We are seeking a Benefits Analyst/Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team in Vancouver.

The Benefits Analyst will provide group benefits consulting support, including design and financial management for clients and prospects. The Benefits Analyst will work closely with internal consulting teams, interface with vendors, support client deliverables, and ensure quality standards are met.

The Benefits Analyst/Business Intelligence Analyst will:

  • Contribute to the overall design and management of group medical, dental, life, disability and special risk benefits for clients.
  • Gather data from various sources and analyze it to identify trends and insights.
  • Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that communicate findings clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain data models that represent business processes and provide insights into performance metrics.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data by conducting regular data quality checks and implementing processes for data governance.
  • Document processes, methodologies, and findings to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing within the organization.
  • Perform annual renewal analysis and negotiations with carriers; prepare client reports and presentations.
  • Complete experience reporting, budget projections and reviewing plan financial performance.
  • Review financial statements for accuracy and adherence to underwriting agreements.
  • Gather data and determine cost impact for plan design changes.
  • Conduct marketings; including preparing and submitting specifications, analysis, cost comparisons and recommendations on marketing responses, and preparing marketing report.
  • Support the consulting team in preparing documents for client presentations and meetings.
  • Participate in industry conferences, seminars, etc. in order to keep abreast of industry trends and activities.
  • Build relationships with clients, carriers, and internal, cross-functional teams.

To be successful as a Benefits Analyst/Business Intelligence Analyst with People Corporation, you will need:

  • Post secondary diploma or degree in computer science, or related disciplines.
  • Experience with dashboards such as PowerBi or Tableau.
  • Advanced competency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize competing demands in order to meet client and company needs.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Sensitivity to confidential information.

All-star candidates will have:

  • Experience in group benefits.
  • Knowledge of Canadian benefits industry and group benefits financial underwriting requirements for all types of employee benefits plans.
  • Coding/VBA experience.
  • Microsoft Power Platform Experience.

Salary Range: The annual base salary for this position ranges from $65,000 to $80,000. This range only includes the base salary and does not account for other variable compensation components of our total package (such as annual bonuses, commissions, etc.).
