As an Occupational Health Nurse, your primary responsibility will be providing comprehensive health and wellness services to the employees of the plant in alignment with established Global Medical priorities, Health System Key Elements, North America Medical, and site-specific objectives, goals, strategies, and measures.

You will play a key role in collaborating with other team members to provide site health and safety needs for the plant. You will support site assessment audits, site risk analysis, and occupational health management plan to support the health services. In addition, you will deliver comprehensive nursing care including prompt medical emergency response, medication administration, referrals, as well as prevention, treatment and follow-up for occupational injuries and illnesses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate care of ill and injured workers for return-to-work assessments and fit-for-duty evaluations.
  • Engage with site and regional medical resources to support clinical activities which include medical triage, medical qualification and monitoring assessments, and facilitating plant physician clinics.
  • Conduct new hire post-offer health questionnaire reviews, focused physical assessments, and medical qualification testing.
  • Work with third party vendors to facilitate health services programs and resources based on business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health programs and medical testing requirements of OHSA, P&G Medical and Industrial Health & Safety standards.
  • Attain and maintain current knowledge of the site’s chemical, biological, and physical risks/hazards and participate in change management and site safety reviews and risk assessments.
  • Promote and contribute to a healthy workplace culture by providing health education and supporting wellness programs offered by the site.
  • Occupational and non-occupational disability management.
  • Ensure data confidentiality, data privacy and data safety for occupational health records. Ensure compliance with the company’s electronic medical records system.

Located in the city of Belleville, Ontario, the P&G Canada Plant is a Feminine Care manufacturing facility. We manufacture bestselling P&G brands such as Always Pads, Liners and Always Discreet. The Belleville Canada plant was built in 1975 and is a working environment for approximately 1000 employees. Belleville offers a rare chance to work in a P&G manufacturing environment while still enjoying the benefits and amenities that come with living in a suburban neighbourhood and being within driving distance to Kingston, Toronto, Ottawa, beautiful cottage country getaways, and several of Ontario’s provincial parks.

Job Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. Nursing Degree (RN)
  • Current registration and in good standing with College of Nurses of Ontario

PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE OR CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in Occupational Health, Primary Health Care, or Emergency Nursing
  • COHN or COHN-S
  • Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist (COHC) certification is an asset
  • NIOSH approved spirometry certification is an asset
  • Adult CPR/AED certification

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO CONSIDER:

  • This is an on-site position.
  • Must be flexible to attend meetings, trainings and conferences that may require occasional travel outside of Canada.
  • Expectation for on-call duties on a rotating schedule.
