Role Description

Mastermind Youth Foundation is seeking a passionate and dedicated student for a Seasonal Basketball Coach role in Sarnia-Lambton. As the Basketball Coach, you will play a pivotal role in leading our flagship The Shores 3x3 summer travel team program and 3x3 basketball summer camp.

Your primary responsibilities include:

• Coaching youth basketball teams and developing comprehensive training plans.
• Overseeing practices and game-day preparations, emphasizing 3x3 basketball fundamentals.
• Mentoring youth while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development.
• Communicating effectively with players, parents, and staff to ensure a positive, inclusive experience.
• Assisting in planning and executing a local charity 3x3 basketball tournament at Lambton College in Sarnia.

This role offers a unique opportunity to mentor young athletes while contributing to a vibrant community program.

Qualifications

• Student
• College or university basketball playing or coaching experience.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and mentorship abilities.
• Previous experience in youth sports or coaching is an asset.
• Ability to work on-site in Sarnia, ON and Forest, ON, and to travel for Ontario-based tournaments.
• Valid driver’s license.
• A passion for youth development and promoting teamwork.
